Appointments

Please be aware when booking your appointment via the online booking system that you will have a choice to pick face to face.

You can make an appointment the following ways:

You can book appointments 24 weeks in advance.

Alternatively you can book appointments online via our online appointment system. In order to be able to book your appointment online, you must register for this service. You can register for our GP online services by completing our online form.

You can book same day appointments via the online booking or in person at reception on the day at 8am.

If you require an appointment in advance you can book anytime via the online booking or in person at the reception.

Please do not book a face to face appointment if you have Covid symptoms.

All consultations are by appointment which can be made in person, by telephone during practice opening hours or online at any time. In some cases it may be possible for your problem to be resolved over the telephone.

The practice offers appointments that are able to be booked in advance, as well as appointments that are only available on the day. If you require an on the day appointment please call at 08:00. These appointments cannot be booked in advance.

Urgent Consultations

There are a few appointments throughout the week reserved for those in urgent need of a consultation. If there are no appointments available but you need to see a doctor urgently, the receptionist may ask you to come in at a particular time. This will mean you need to be prepared to sit and wait until a doctor is available to see you.

Standard Consultations

A standard consultation with a doctor or nurse is for 10 minutes. Please let us know, as soon as possible, if you are unable to attend or no longer require the appointment you have booked.

If you are a newly registered patient and are making your first appointment with a doctor and have a number of problems to discuss please explain this to the receptionist and ask for a twenty minute appointment with the doctor rather than the usual 10 minutes. This applies to your first appointment only.

Telephone Advice

If you are waiting for a doctor to return your call please try and ensure that your line is available.

Waiting Times

We endeavour to keep waiting times to a minimum, especially for children and anyone experiencing severe discomfort or distress. An emergency may mean that you have to wait to see the doctor.

Extended Hours and Improved Access Service

You can now see a GP or another healthcare professional during:

  • Weekday evenings between 18:30 and 20:00

Appointments will take place at another local surgery. Please call the surgery for more information on 01273 328950.
