The surgery has now started a virtual patient group and you are very welcome to join. Simply send your e mail address via the feedback form to the surgery and you will added to the distribution list. Please see below the first e mail that has been sent to the group as it stands today.
Good afternoon and thank you for becoming a member of the Montpelier surgery on line patient group.
By way of introduction my name is Gary Toyne and I am the practice manager. You may have seen me rushing round the surgery! Feel free to grab me and say hello next time I appear.
Why has this group been established?
The purpose of this group as I see it is to enable the surgery and it’s patients to have a two way conversation about the services and service we offer here at the surgery and going forward, in light of the government white paper, to consult on what services we offer city wide and how they are delivered. All of this with the aim of improving the standard of patient care and patient experience.
This however is only my thinking in terms of the purpose of this group. I would be very interested to hear if you have any different thoughts as to what this group may be able to achieve and how.
Is this group open to others?
Yes. If you have friends or members of your family who are registered patients here would like to participate in this group, please ask them to send me their e mail address and I will add them to the distribution list. Likewise if at any point you decide you no longer want to receive e mails from me, please let me know and I will remove you from the distribution list.
Feedback from the patient questionnaire you completed
A number of you requested reading material in the waiting room. Response: Reading material will now (with immediate effect) be available in the waiting room. A selection of magazines has been made available today.
A number of you requested that a selection of toys be available for children to play with (and of course adults of they wish!). Toys were removed from the waiting room as it is a very small area and it was felt that they might be a safety risk. We have reassessed this and will replace the toys with immediate effect.
Update
Have you seen the new surgery website? (address below) Have a look and let me know what you think. One patient did just this and as a result we made significant improvements.
If you have registered for on line services you can now, view your appointments, cancel your appointments, order prescriptions and give us new contact details such as telephone number or address, without having to come to the surgery. Register now at reception. You need to show proof of ID in order to prevent potential prescription fraud.
Feedback on the website would be appreciated.
Just a reminder – appointments can be cancelled without having to wait on the phone to speak to a member of staff. Simply dial the surgery number, press option 1 and leave a message. It’s as simple as that.
Once again thank you for your support.
