All consultations are by appointment which can be made in person or by telephone during practice opening hours or online at any time. In some cases it may be possible for your problem to be resolved over the telephone.
The practice offers appointments that are able to be booked in advance as well as appointments that are only available on the day. If you require an on the day appointment please phone at 08:00. These appointments cannot be booked in advance.
There are also a few appointments throughout the week reserved for those in urgent need of a consultation. If there are no appointments available but you need to see a doctor urgently, the receptionist may ask you to come in at a particular time. This will mean you need to be prepared to sit and wait until a doctor is available to see you.
A standard consultation with a doctor or nurse is for 10 minutes. Please let us know, as soon as possible, if you are unable to attend or no longer require the appointment you have booked.
If you are a newly registered patient and are making your first appointment with a doctor and have a number of problems to discuss please explain this to the receptionist and ask for a twenty minute appointment with the doctor rather than the usual 10 minutes. This applies to your first appointment only.
You do not need to speak to a member of staff to cancel an appointment, simply dial 01273 328950, option 1 and leave a message.
If you would like to leave a message with a doctor or nurse please give brief details to the receptionist and a doctor or nurse will return your call when surgery has finished, usually after 11:30 or 17:30 (times will vary according to the specific finish times of the doctor’s surgeries).
If you are waiting for a doctor to return your call please try and ensure that your line is available.
We endeavour to keep waiting times to a minimum, especially for children and anyone experiencing severe discomfort or distress. An emergency may mean that you have to wait to see the doctor.
Your First Consultation in Three Years
If you are aged over 16 but under 75 and are seeing a doctor for the first time in three years the doctor may offer a further examination to establish your current state of health.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. You do not need to speak to a member of staff to cancel an appointment, simply dial 01273 328950, option 1 and leave a message. Alternatively you can cancel appointments online.
