guidelines, we recommend an influenza plus pneumonia vaccination for patients
over 65 and patients with diabetes, chronic heart, lung or kindney disease and
residents of nursing and rest homes. The vaccination is available in October;
please contact reception for further details.
Cervical
Smears For all females aged between 25 and 65.
This
test prevents cancer of the cervix by finding early changes in cells which can
be easily treated. The doctors and nurses can carry out this procedure and give
you further advice. We have an automatic recall system in place to remind you
when your next test is due. A letter will be sent to you with the result, usually
within six to eight weeks.
Asthma and Diabetes
Sister Vicky McCormick has expertise with respiratory disorders especially asthma
and COPD. She would like to encourage such patients to attend for assessment.
Sister
Alex Mill looks after our diabetic patients.
Please make an appointment
with either nurse in the normal way. The practice encourages patients with these conditions to attend annual reviews.
Family Planning
We can offer the full range of contraceptive services, including coil fitting. Please enquire at reception for an appointment.
Minor Surgery Clinic A wide number of procedures are carried
out under local anaesthetic at this clinic.
The patient should have seen Dr Gayton previously to discuss the procedure.
Travel
We are a designated Yellow Fever centre. We also stock most travel vaccines.
The nurses will be happy to discuss your travel requirements so please make
an appointment in the normal way. There will be a charge for some vaccines - enquire
at reception beforehand.
Stop
Smoking Clinic
Both our nurses are smoking
cessation advisors and are able to see patients to help in their bid to stop smoking.
Please enquire at reception for an appointment.
